We are seeking a Training Product Developer to create engaging and effective training materials that enhance learning experiences. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to design and develop innovative training programs tailored to meet the needs of our audience. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives.
• Design and develop engaging training materials, including e-learning modules, manuals, and assessments.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in training and development.
• Facilitate training sessions and workshops as needed.
• Manage project timelines and ensure deliverables are met on schedule.

Key selection criteria

Essential

• Working knowledge of Vocational Education and Training and/or compliance requirements, as outlined in the Training Package Organising Framework.
• Demonstrated experience in project planning and/or management.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills, that develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Be motivated to promote a curious, innovative and professional culture across the company.
• A tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor or Master degree, and/or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122).
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply but will need to demonstrate that they have transferable skills that align to the key selection criteria.

Desirable

• Demonstrated experience working within a public safety, government and/or corrections environment.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating consultants and/or subcontractors.

The VET Projects Officer (Training Product Development) is accountable to the Manager, Training Packages and Quality.

The position delivers primarily on Training Product Development and also helps with Implementation, Promotion and Monitoring activities as outlined in the approved project plan. This role is responsible for the delivery of several areas of work simultaneously. Key activities include:

• Collaboration with subcontractors on program and project delivery.
• Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with key industry partners.
• Developing and piloting implementation programsto support industry-sector RTOs.
• Developing high-quality reports and briefing papers.
• Organising and facilitating various committee meetings.
• Presenting high quality, accurate, verbal and written information to the Executive and internal and external industry stakeholders.

The VET Projects Officer (TPD) will be required to promote and support the vision of the Board, and the outcomes of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Reform program and ensure robust compliance, good governance, fiscal responsibility and adherence to federal requirements. The position is required to build and maintain strong relationships with all staff within the company

Responsibilities

In partnership with internal and external stakeholders and external service providers, with the intent of ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative, grant and company compliance obligations, the Projects Officer (Training Product Development) will:

1. Support the delivery of the Training Product Development and Implementation, Promotion and Monitoring program of work including VET projects.

Essential Selection Criteria

1. Tertiary qualification(s) and/or equivalent experience relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
2. Working knowledge of Vocational Education and Training and/or compliance requirements, as outlined in the Training Package Organising Framework.
3. Demonstrated experience delivering projects in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, relevant to vocational education and training, workforce planning and/or labour market research.
4. Demonstrated experience consistently delivering high quality verbal and written content (such as Project Reports) on time and to required standards.
5. Demonstrated experience delivering successful outcomes through collaboration and consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Demonstrated experience acting cohesively within a workplace and outcomes whilst exhibiting professional behaviour in line with organisational values.
7. Demonstrated ability to support and advocate company position(s) with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated experience planning, delivering and forecasting key responsibilities and associated work activities within an area of responsibility to successfully achieve organisational requirements.
9. Willing to be hands-on working in a dynamic team environment.

Desirable Selection Criteria

1. Demonstrated experience working within service-focused companies including public safety, not-for- profit companies and/or government.
2. Demonstrated understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements.
3. Demonstrated experience working within the vocational education and training sector.
4. Vocational qualification(s) in training and assessment (eg. TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training)

1. For the duration of employment, the incumbent is required to: a. pass and maintain a National Police Record Check b. pass and maintain an ‘employee’ type Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) c. be vaccinated against COVID-19 d. be legally allowed to work within Australia.
2. It is strongly preferred that the applicant hold a current Australian State or Territory driver’s licence (car).
3. There will be times when it is required to work outside normal business hours i.e. evenings and weekends to meet stakeholder requirements.
4. Travel may be required for this position, including overnight stays and journeys by road, public transport and commercial airlines.

Type of employment

This is a full-time, fixed-term position, with the duration aligning to the current Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) grant funding available through till 30 June 2028, unless otherwise stipulated in the employee contract or agreement. Experienced staff within the public service will be considered for secondment arrangements. A six (6) month probationary period applies to all new PSA employees (external candidates) and or new positions successfully applied for by internal candidates.

Location

This position is based at the company’s office within the Melbourne Central Business District (CBD). The candidate will be required to attend the Melbourne office as necessitated by business and deliverable requirements. PSA supports flexible working arrangements, with a focus on balancing staff needs with work requirements.
